That's intentional. :'D If I ever do a future update, maybe I'll put something there so people know it's not a bug. Or at least put a credits scroll or something. >~<
I see all the other commenters got it, maybe it was me too stupid to get it...! However from my point of view I was quite intrigued until I felt trolled... Maybe it doesn't matter talking since it was just a speed project but if you'll ever do a "serious" project I suggest to pay more attention on the way it closes.
PS: The voice acting was a pleasant surprise, but maybe next time you should consider to have a voice for the narration part too.
Cute, sad little game, i enjoyed the story i read, and i loved the voice acting. loved the character, you did a good job, and i look forward to what you create next.
As for the clarification at the end... Without giving too much away (because itch.io doesn't seem to have a spoiler tag system or a messaging system that I can see from here), the ending choices are basically deciding if Melanie should "move on" or "get another chance." Represented by "draw the curtains" and "encore."
I was limited to only 1k words, so I couldn't really add more to explanation to it, unfortunately. I don't think I can say more without posting a major spoiler on the game page. :'D
Fun (possible) fact: "I put that song in the code, about 2 minutes before the deadline." If only I would've made it in time. :'D
Also another fun fact: "I did not actually listen to the whole song before I put it in, so if it fits it was a totally random chance." But don't tell anyone, it's a secret, let them think that I meticulously planned the whole thing~ xD

Whatever I pick at the first choice (Encore / Draw the curtains) ends the game... was it a bug or did I miss something?

Cute art, melancholy story! The wonderful voice acting added a lot of emotion to the experience!
Thanks, I've known the VA for years, she got her lines to me really quickly! :D
Sad story :(
But the art is very cute <3
Believe it or not, I wanted to make it even sadder. ;u;
Yeah, Kat does great work~ <3
